Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community:
Self-expression and connection go hand in hand, the purpose of broadcasting should be to connect. If it’s not, maintain your vision, no one else has it. Please play and make music you actually like; it makes everything so much easier when you aren’t seeing it through the lens of obligation to others. Going back into my last.fm from middle & high school has reminded me of music that still turns the party for me.

About the mix:
Some eerie romance for October, a slight psychedelic Corpse Bride journey through the underworld for a wedding and seeing what remains when you try to resurface. I’ve been in such an acid house headspace, it’s always been this way but moreso than ever. Five years ago I happened to pick up on a friendship with Viva Nova, a woman who lives in my mother’s building, and quickly learned about her frequent collaborations with My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult; multitalented but above all a great storyteller, Viva’s one of the most badass people I’ve ever met, and the first song here features her vocals.
