Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community: Be more transparent about the spaces you are creating and who they are for, be more intentional about what you are doing and how you treat folks within the spaces you create because it has an impact whether you think so or not. Make things more accessible for people who need accessibility. Don’t only book/ hire your friend group ( that’s wack ) Open doors for people who often are not given opportunities to play shows or be a part of amazing projects. Pay folks fairly !!! / Do not be a clout chaser / gatekeeper, Look out for each other, if you are sick pls stay home, remember to be kind and to have fun ( I hate a bitch who takes themselves too seriously ) Treat folks how you would want to be treated, in any room you walk in !!! be rooted in kindness and humility ~ you are not above others just because you played a boiler room or in that lil bathroom in berlin or what famous people you’re friends with or if you yourself are famous because in the end that won’t matter. What will matter is how you did what you did and how you treated yourself and others within that process. Also use your privilege to stand up for injustice and give opportunities to people who don’t get them easily N lastly ~ Think about the people that you are in community with who struggle with addiction / are now in recovery who still have to be apart of nightlife / work in it. Practice Harm reduction ❤

About the mix: I was at the gym last winter running on the treadmill and I had this image in my head of me running as fast as I can and then turning into a plane that flies away. I have not been able to get that image out of my head since and I often find myself returning to it. Whether it’s through exploring it in this mix or continuing to visualize it. This Mix also feels like a continuous Car crash to me. Songs go into each other in this chaotic way but also it makes sense and works ( for the most part ) When I was creating it I was like this is how I feel but I DON’T KNOW if thats gonna make sense to the listener, then I was like no keep that, do that 1. In this Mix I’m also exploring my ability to move through discomfort / uncomfortable situations ~ I’m exploring what it would be like if I retaliated rather than leaving situations alone through the sounds, that’s why it sounds very Chaotic and messy. I was also exploring the complexities of queer relationships/ Love in this mix. When I DJ/ Create mixes I like to use a track and take it to its most extreme it could ever sound. Sometimes I do nothing because it is already that and other times I mix other tracks into it.
