Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community:
As a ‘late bloomer’ myself, I would love to encourage everyone who is not in their 20s anymore and scared by skilled veterans and/or young guns alike, to believe in themselves and take action. Provided you have the immense privilege of having time, do something with it. Listen to music, dig as much old and new stuff as you can, interact with like-minded people, ask straight up for help and/or access to gear/music and you will be surprised how helpful and talented in teaching your peers can be. Try to be humble to yourself and others and to not be too overcritical – or as my grandma would have put it in german: “Es ist noch kein Meister vom Himmel gefallen.”, which you could translate to: “No master has yet fallen from the sky.”
