Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community:
Always dig with an open mind and continue to learn about the history of the communities and genres/artists that inspire you. don’t constrain yourself to one genre or one vision of yourself – trust your ear, lean into change and new directions, your artistic identity is a constant journey! surround yourself with people that inspire you and push you to grow, but don’t compare yourself to them. Pace yourself – burnout is real!!
About the mix: This was recorded back in April at Vitarave 006, one of my favorite diy events Vitamin1000 throws annually in the Southern California desert – a friends + fam renegade celebrating our community and honoring how our collective started 🙂 I leaned into the dark liminal space the desert can have at night – this mix blends some of my favorite tracks filled with punchy and electro-infused rhythms, bubbly and lush leads, and bass/dubstep/dnb surprises that I’ve been enjoying sprinkling into my sets.
